These abilities include metabolizing, digesting food disposing of wastes, reproducing, growing, moving, and responding to stimuli.
These abilities may seem familiar for the reason that they are the necessary functions to survive. As the phrase functional abilities suggests, these abilities are exhibited to allow the body to function. Metabolism allows our body to absorb energy and helps in the breaking down of food. However, the breaking down of food is considered a whole other function of cells. This is the function of digesting food. As a result of food digestion, waste is produced. Cells then have the function of disposing wastes. Cells also reproduce, grow, and move to allow the body to function.
In conclusion, cells exhibit many abilities that allow the body to function.
